Program of Study

GEMARA

Students study Gemara in a structured approach that will enable them to learn on their own.
• Iyun – Learn in a structured and analytical approach that enables each student to gain essential independent learning skills
• Bekiut – Acquire knowledge in vast sections of the Talmud. Throughout the year, many students make several siyumim as they complete masechtot of Shas.

MISHNA

Students learn Mishna with a goal of completeing several sedarim of Mishnayot yearly.

TORAH, NEVIIM AND KETUVIM

Shiurim given on Parshat Hashavua as well as additional sections of the Torah using Rashi and other classic Mefarshim.

HALACHA

The Shulchan Aruch studied together with Ben Ish Chai, Yalkut Yosef, Mishnah Berurah, and other classical Halachic authorities. There is a special emphasis put on Sephardic halacha and minhagim.

HASHKAFA AND MUSSAR

Classes and discussions based on the teachings of the Rambam, Ramchal, R. Shimshon Pincus, and R. Dessler including issues such as the purpose of creation, reward and punishment, and the purpose of the Mitzvot. Students are encouraged to think and ask questions in order to gain a deeper understanding of everything learned
